മസ്കത്ത്: സാമൂഹിക ക്ഷേമ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ക്കും ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കും വിലയി ടുകയും ജീവിത മാർഗ്ഗമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സമ കാലീന ലോകത്ത് നാല് പതിറ്റാണ്ടോളമായി സ്വന്തം കീശയിൽ നിന്ന് പണമെടുത്ത് സാമൂഹിക സേവനം നടത്തിയ ജാബിർക്ക എന്ന പി.എം ജാബിർ നാടണയുന്നു. പ്രവാസ ലോകത്തെ കണ്ണീർ മണമുള്ള ബിജുവിന്‍റെയും അലേഷ്യസി ന്റേയും ഉണ്ണിത്താന്‍റെയും പറഞ്ഞ് തീരാത്ത കഥ കളുമായാണ് ജാബി മടങ്ങുന്നത്. അംഗീകാരങ്ങ ൾക്കും അവാർഡുകൾക്കും പിന്നാലെ പോയിട്ടി ല്ലെന്നും സ്വന്തം ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി സാമൂഹിക സേവകൻ എന്ന പദവി ഒരിക്കലും ഉപയോഗപ്പെടു ത്തിയിട്ടില്ലെന്നും പ്രയാസത്തിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയവരി ൽനിന്നും അശരണരിൽ നിന്നും ഉയരുന്ന ജാബിർ ക്ക’ എന്ന വിളിയാണ് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ അംഗീകാര മെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. ഫോൺ വിളികൾ, വണ്ടിയിലെ ഇന്ധനം തുടങ്ങിയ നിരവധി ആവശ്യ ങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്വന്തം ശമ്പളത്തിൽ നിന്നെടുത്താണ് ചെലവഴിച്ചത്. ശരാശരി മാസത്തിൽ നൂറ് റിയാ ലെങ്കിലും വരും. കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ട് വർഷമായി ജോലിയില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ കുടുംബാഗങ്ങളാണ് നൽകിയത്.1982 നവംബറിലാണ് ജാബിർക്ക സൂപ്പർ മാർക്കറ്റിലെ ജീവനക്കാരനായി ഒമാനിലെ ത്തുന്നത്. അതേ വർഷം തന്നെ ഒമാൻ നാഷനൽ ഇൻഷൂറൻസ് കമ്പനിയിൽ ജോലിയിൽ പ്രവേശി ച്ചിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് വിവിധ ഇൻഷൂറൻസ് കമ്പനിയിൽ ജോലി നോക്കി.സാമൂഹിക സേവന മേഖലകളിൽ ഇടപെടാറുണ്ടെങ്കിലും 1988ൽ കൈരളി ഒമാൻ നിലവിൽ വന്നതോടെയാണ് സജീവമായത്. 1990 മുതലാണ് ഇന്ത്യൻ എംബസിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് സാമൂഹിക പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ ഇടപെടാൻ തുടങ്ങിയത്.സ്വന്തമായി മൂവ്വായിരത്തിലധികം മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ നാട്ടിലയച്ചു.1990ലാണ് ആദ്യത്തെ മൃതദേഹം നാട്ടിലയച്ചത്. ആദ്യമായി സുഹാറിൽ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചത് ആറ് മാസം മോർച്ചറിയിൽ അനാഥ മായി കിടന്ന മലയാളിയായ ഗോപിയുടെ മൃതദേ ഹമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ജാബിർ പറഞ്ഞു. മാധ്യമങ്ങ ൾ സജീവമായതോടെയാണ് പലരും സാമൂഹിക സേവന രംഗത്ത് വന്നത്. തൊഴിൽ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളിൽ പെട്ട നിരവധി പേരെ സഹായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവരെ നാട്ടിലക്കുന്നതിലും പിഴ അടക്കുന്നതിലും മറ്റും ഗൾഫാർ മുഹമ്മദലി, യൂസുഫലി തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രമുഖർ എന്നും കൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വാദീ അദൈയിൽ തൊഴിൽ പ്രശ്നത്തിൽ പെട്ട 11 മലയാളികളെ നാട്ടിലയക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത് ‘ഗൾഫ് മാധ്യമം വാർത്ത കണ്ട് യൂസുഫലി സഹായെമ ത്തിച്ചത് കൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഏജൻറുമാരുടെ കെണിയിൽപെട്ട് ഒമാനിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയ മലയാളി സ്ത്രീകളെ നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കുന്നതടക്കമുള്ള വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ ഇടപെട്ടിരുന്നു. മലയാളി ഉടമയായ ഒരു കമ്പനിയുടെ തൊഴിൽ പ്രശ്നം ഉയർത്തി കൊണ്ട് വന്നതിൽ വധ ഭീഷണി വരെ നേരിടേണ്ടി വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചില ഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ സുഹൃ ത്തുക്കളുടെ സുരക്ഷാ വലയത്തിൽ നടക്കേണ്ട തയും നാട്ടിലുള്ള മക്കൾക്ക് പോലീസ് സുരക്ഷ ഏർപ്പെടേണ്ടതായും വന്നിരുന്നു.ഒമാനിലെ പൊതുമാപ്പുകളിൽ കൃത്യമായി ഇടപെട്ടിരുന്നു. കൈരളി ഒമാന്‍റെ ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി പത്ത് വർഷം സേവനം അനുഷ്ടിച്ചു. 1996ൽ ഇന്ത്യൻ സോഷ്യൽ ക്ലബ്ബിന്‍റെ മലയാളം വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. കൈരളി ചാനലിെൻറ ഒമാൻ കോഡിനേറ്ററായിരുന്നു. കൈരളി ചാനലിന്‍റെ പ്രവാസ ലോകം പരിപാടി ഏറ്റവും സജീവമാക്കി യത് ഒമാനായരുന്നു. തലശ്ശേരി മാളിയക്കൽ തറവാട് അംഗമാണ് പി എം. ജാബിർ. ഭാര്യ ഷഹനാസ്, മക്കൾ വൈലാന, ജൂലിയാന എന്നിവരാണ്.
